DEALS & DISCOUNTS

Welcome to the Seacoast and New Hampshire!

Many shops, restaurants, parks, museums and attractions offer discounts and/or free admission to active duty military -- and often your families, too!

PORTSMOUTH & THE NAVY

The USS Cheyenne is part of an illustrious Portsmouth-connected Navy past. Portsmouth is not just “a Navy town” or the place that built the Raleigh, one of America’s first ships of the line and pictured at the center of the official Seal of New Hampshire. And Portsmouth Naval Shipyard is not ‘just’ the oldest continuously-operating Navy shipyard in the country (established 1800).

VOLUNTEER PROJECTS

Portsmouth welcomes the help of sailors assigned to Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. There are special opportunities to help -- and enjoy -- Portsmouth's 400th anniversary events in 2023.

ABOUT US

The Portsmouth Host Community Welcome Committee is dedicated to making Portsmouth a memory you will cherish, along with your families. Portsmouth has loved our sailors since before the US was a country. Men from Portsmouth and Kittery sailed with Captain John Paul Jones when they took Ranger in harm's way against the British in 1777. Soon after becoming a country the boatyards on the Piscataqua River became Portsmouth Navy Yard in 1800. Portsmouth Naval Shipyard has helped take the US Navy "from sails to atoms" and is dedicated to being the "gold standard" for 773, its sailors and your families.
